ROYALTON RAVINE

September 1997

These photos were taken on our hike in Royalton Ravine in late September 1997.   This is a very rich and green area, and extremely wet and marshy. Boardwalks run over many of the trails, as the ground is extremely muddy. Be sure to wear waterproof boots on this trail.

Interesting things to see on this trail include a very long footbridge that wiggles as you walk across it and the ruins of an old homestead.

Directions: From Buffalo, take I90 East to exit 49 (Depew Rte 78 – Transit Road). Follow Transit Road north into Lockport. Turn east onto Rte 31. Go 6.5 miles, then turn right onto Gasport Road. Royalton Ravine will be on your right.
