Algonquin – Rain Lake

Jen and Karl’s log of Algonquin trip. August 1998
Day 3: Return to Rain Lake
We woke up at 6:30 am, and had a breakfast of bacon and pancakes. The pancakes were atrocious — burned on the outside and raw in the middle! Guess our camp cookware is too light for pancakes! After breakfast, we suddenly were very cold and decided to get into our sleeping bags in the tent again. We both fell asleep, and got up again at 11:00 to break camp.It took several hours to return over Jubilee and Sawyer Lakes to Rain Lake.As we plan to hike the Western Upland Trail tomorrow, we chose a campsite that bordered the trail. Karl likes this campsite best, as it is very spacious. Best of all, the catbox is new with a toilet seat!!Dinner was coffee and beef-flavored Ramen noodles.
